Another fragment of Gilgamesh where they send Shámhat, a Hierodule to "civilize" Enkidú by showing him its charms. A hunter discovers Enkidú in the middle of the goats and thinks that this wild being can stop Gilgamesh because he is as strong as the tyrant. He goes with his father and he tells him to take him to Shámhat, the hierodule, with the plan of showing him his charms and seducing him, so that the herd would shun him. It is not clear how, but the contact with the hierodule would civilize Enkidú. After seven days with his nights of love with Shámhat, the Hierodule, Enkidú "had matured and achieved a vast intelligence". Then Shámhat convinces him to go with her to Uruk to face Gilgamesh.
